Internship Opportunity in Washington, DC: The Institute for Educational Leadership (IEL) offers exciting internship opportunities. IEL, a 30 year-old not-for-profit organization, seeks to improve educational opportunities and results for children and families by developing and supporting leaders who work together across the nation. One aspect of our work focuses on community collaboration and development by using public schools as a hub to offer a range of supports and opportunities to children, youth, families and communities. Interns are given the opportunity to learn about current policies affecting children and families and to be a part of the effort to make these initiatives more effective. Interns are brought in as part of the team, assisting with current projects and independently working on projects of their own. By attending meetings and conferences with their supervisors, interns are also exposed to various efforts to improve outcomes for children and families. IEL is seeking interns throughout the year. There are no application deadlines, but students are encouraged to send their resumes as soon as possible. There are no specific qualifications for the job, except an interest in education and/or child and family policy. Unfortunately no stipend is available, but IEL is willing to act as a supervisor to assure that any undergraduate can receive academic credit. To apply, e-mail, send or fax resume and cover letter to: IEL Internship Program 4455 Connecticut Ave. NW Suite 310 Washington, DC 20008 Fax: (202) 872-4050 E-mail: [email protected]
