Interpretation of Scripture I have been reading with interest how the churches split over the “Lordship of the Christ Jesus”...a pastor once stated that for years that when we look at the interpretation of Scripture, there is not one single group that can claim to have the corner on the market on the correct interpretation...I infer to this comment that every group is incorrect to one degree or another. This pastor is affirming what the apostle Peter said,” knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man, but from holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit...2nd Peter 1:20-21...the “holy men” Peter referred to are Prophets of God as attested by the Prophet Amos...surely the Lord God will do nothing but he will reveal his secrets unto his servants the prophets...Amos 3:7... Only the prophets of God are entitled to “interpret” what another Prophet of God has said...surely we need a Prophet of God today to interpret Scripture so that no church need be partly incorrect...a living prophet could unmistakably declare whether Christ was Lord...or just another man speaking his truth...
