Interstate Lane Restrictions to Install Traffic Sensors INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) contractors plan to restrict traffic lanes on I-70 and I-465 during overnight hours next week to replace traffic sensors in the roadway. The work is weather dependent, and the following schedule is subject to change: Monday, July 29: The left three lanes of southbound I-465 will be restricted from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. at mile marker 18.4 south of 56th Street. Tuesday, July 30: The right lane of westbound I-70 will be restricted from 9 p.m. to midnight at mile marker 70.6 west of I-465. The left two lanes of westbound I-70 will be restricted from midnight to 5 a.m. at the same location. Wednesday, July 31: The right lane of eastbound I-70 will be restricted from 9 p.m. to midnight at mile marker 70.6 west of I-465. The left two lanes of eastbound I-70 will be restricted from midnight to 5 a.m. at the same location. Crews will replace sensors in each lane that are used to continuously collect data, such as vehicle size and traffic volumes. This work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled in the event of rain.
