Interstellar is flawed perfection. Impressive film in many ways. Felt deeply moving. Profound, even provocative. Fundamentally its about the relationships between fathers & daughters in a Shakespearean sort of way. Its long. Three hours long! So ya feeeeel the time dilation... My middle daughter Kate, almost 16, whom I feared would be bored outa her gourd, was as mesmerized by Interstellar as I was by 2001: A Space Odyssey back when my Mom took me to see it in 1968. Katie declared it was the best movie shed ever seen in her life. Wow! She got it. Art as connection & appreciation, not something to be automatically criticized, critiqued, & shredded. Interstellar also introduces a fascinating take on spirituality. Also a relief to see a hard science-fiction movie without BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! space wars, anal-probing aliens, and gore-slurping space monsters. On a different tack, astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson praised the film for its scientific & mathematical accuracy.
