Interviewed yesterday on Sheldon Browns radio program ......awesome to share the notion of Good Grief with your listeners !!! Sheldon said ..... Pat’s compassionate approach to people is captured in our interview with her last Tuesday. Catch it at planetaudio.org.nz/takeitfromus. Here is a personal testimonial which reinforces her attitudes and work: "Pat affects people. Profoundly.Infusing them with courage to carry on, instilling hope where there has been none, joy where there has been deep, deep sorrow and grief and facilitating powerful psychological and emotional healing – she uses a butterfly as a metaphor for the transformation, and for the people that come to her – it is indeed as if she gives them their wings back. Pat has hundreds of unsolicited testimonials from clients she has assisted over the years and an evening spent in her company talking about her work is a humbling and inspiring experience. Her huge and very grace filled contribution to humanity is not rewarded by a large financial return and some very tragic personal life experiences have conspired to throw her on the mercy of the public health system. She is no stranger to this as she has worked as a registered Nurse for many years. Pat personally hand writes 3 letters daily and mails them to individuals she feels could do with appreciation, upliftment and validation. To date she has written over 12,000 such pieces of mail. She has worked extensively in NZ, travelled through orphanages in Russia with Patch Adams, clowning for children, has committed to a tour coming up through African Orphanages and recently she discovered a man in the USA that travels and dances (badly) with people all around the world raising money in support of communities who need it. She has invited this man to dance with her here in NZ.
