#IntrovertTip: Even for introverts, theres such a thing as TOO much solitude/quiet. If you find yourself feeling restless, out of sorts, snippy or otherwise not in your happy place, you might be experiencing Social Interaction Deficit (I just made that up, but it feels like it could be real :-)). The cure? Make real-time (not FB or Twitter) contact ASAP with people. You might know them (call a friend!) or not (hang out at a museum, go to the library or a coffee shop). But burst your bubble and get yourself around others. The benefit? Youll get a gentle jolt of energy and feel reoriented to the world, and coming home will be that much more enjoyable ;-). Ive experienced this on two levels: as an entrepreneur, I had a period a few years ago when I realized I was climbing the walls and had lagging confidence. Then it hit me: Id not gotten out and connected with anyone beyond clients or my husband in at least two weeks! No wonder I felt too folded in on myself. I now try to make sure Im being proactive about making connections, before I hit the wall. The second level is with my husband. We noticed early on that if we isolate too much, we end up getting short tempered and impatient with each other. One evening out with another couple (and a conversation about whats going on) pretty much clears things up and resets our feelings of connectedness. ----> What about you? How can you tell when youve isolated too much? Whats your cure? Please share in the comments!
