Intuition is commonly defined as the ability to acquire knowledge - TopicsExpress

Intuition is commonly defined as the ability to acquire knowledge without inference and/or the use of reason. It is related to the notions of revelation or gut-feelings. Until science can map an “intuition gene”, it is my “intuition“ that what we call intuition is implicitly apprehended prior learning and nothing more. If so, the more intermediately fruitful question is – what triggers the implicit to become explicit and subject to rational verification? We do not understand the connections and process within the human brain that store and relate or learn implicit data. This is what I mean by “Intuition proposes and reason disposes.”
