Intuition returns this Friday to timbuk2 with two of the biggest names in the scene we love. CERN & LOXY Over the past decade, NZ native Cern has entrenched himself as a strong presence in the global drum and bass scene, proving his skills in the studio are matched by his selection in the club. Since his first release in 2008, Cern has amassed a long list of standout releases on heavyweight labels including Project 51, Renegade Hardware, Dispatch Recordings, Samurai Music and Commercial Suicide and has shared his intricate mixing style with crowds throughout the UK, Europe and Oceania. LOXY With out a doubt, Loxy is one of the originators and pioneers of the music we know and love as Jungle / Drum and Bass and has played a seminal part in every step of it’s evolution over the last two decades . Having been involved since the early days, Loxy has gone on to secure himself as one of the leading lights in this ever growing scene. A man known to many for his tight production skills, but also as one of the most cutting edged DJ’s still doing the rounds across the globe! All the while, Loxy keeps the music he makes and plays grounded, pushing the talents of artists such as Clarity, Pessimist, Overlook and many more up and coming artists to a broader audience. During the mid 90s, Loxy cemented his name in the drum & bass history books after becoming a resident at the legendary Blue Note club, and all of Goldie’s other Metalheadz nights from that day forward. Although he considers himself as a DJ first, Loxy’s production stands out as tough and hard hitting, with precisely layered drum patters and basslines. Loxy has worked with most of the legendary labels over the years including Good Looking Records, Exit Records, Metalheadz, Renegade Hardware, Razors Edge, Digital Soundboy, Shogun Audio and Architecture Recordings.
