Invicta got back to our old ways today with a domineering defeat - TopicsExpress

Invicta got back to our old ways today with a domineering defeat of Tritons from Saanich, or Esquimalt, or whatever. After a conspicuously clipboardless team talk from coach Pudding, the boys sought to prove that some of our early results were mere bumps in the road. We did just that. Two rookie f*cks combined early, with the Gavernor providing for Andrew Dice who smashed home his header at the back post, and not long after, an old veteran(me) put us up two, catching the keeper off his line with a 30 yard thunder bastard. It didnt stop there. Another beauty cross (I missed whose, was fetching my wine) found Humphries who acrobatically rose above his marker for our third. At this point chronology gets a little hazy, but for sure before the half we were up four, as Salty got in on the act, skilfully stumbling one over the line. The second half saw some tactical changes and a more relaxed side, allowing Tritons to attack occasionally, which eventually resulted in what might have been a miscommunication, but was certainly an errant pass at the back, and an end to The Dubsys shutout hopes. Well get you there pal. Rounding out the scoring and keeping his Div 4 golden boot hopes alive was our Div 1 ringer DJ Kudos. Honourable mention goes to everybody not mentioned. The whole squad was solid, and there were no soft spots to speak of (excepting clubby attendance). Oh, I should also mention for anybody who took the day off to read this, that today saw the inaugural awarding of our brand new Man of the Match blazer, complete with a sewn-on Invicta crest. Its a beaut, and I of course am wearing it.
