The business is currently divided into two divisions: International –where clients make purchases from online stores primarily in the U.S, the U. K and China and the goods are imported into Zambia on their behalf. Domestic – These are primarily online stores operated independent local Zambian Businesses, where Dot Com Zambia is acting as their sales agent. Project Description Dot Com Zambia is looking for a tax consultant to advise management on tax legislation, liaise with ZRA on behalf of Dot Com Zambia, and devise tax efficient strategies as well help implement business operating procedures that are tax compliant. Project Responsibilities Help Dot Com Zambia management interpret and integrate tax considerations into their strategy Advise and Monitor tax legislation, regulations, rulings, etc. affecting tax compliance Provide or advise on functional accountancy services, such as bookkeeping, payroll and VAT in order to ensure that Dot Com Zambia operations and record keeping are tax complaint Lobby, Liaise and negotiate with ZRA on our behalf, especially where current tax codes are ambiguous with regards to e-commerce businesses (Dot Com Zambia may be used as a test case) Work on special projects as needed; resolve tax issues; work on systems projects and process improvements. Prepare and file or review financial statements, schedules, and tax returns. Position Requirements Academic Qualification in Law, Accounting or Finance More than 3 years of experience providing tax and accounting services Computer literacy and good command of English Good analytical thinking, strong interpersonal and multi-tasking skills Application Process Please note that this is a competitive bidding process, but the lowest bid may not necessarily be the selected bid.
