Irish Flag-Raising Ceremony Set for Friday, March 7 Mayor Mark A. Smith announced that the City of Bayonne will host the annual Irish flag-raising ceremony at City Hall on Friday, March 7, at 5:00 p.m. The event will feature Barbara Findlay Dziemian, Grand Marshal of the 2014 Bayonne St. Patrick’s Parade, and the Aides to the Grand Marshal: Susan Dziemian Beurskens, Kathy Donovan, Shelia Antczak, George Delaney, and Peggy McGarvey. Members of the Bayonne St. Patrick’s Parade Committee will preside at the ceremony and participate in the program. The event will feature the national anthems of Ireland and the United States, and cultural presentations about the Irish. Mayor Smith, City Council Members, and other public officials will offer remarks and present proclamations honoring the Aides to the Grand Marshal. A piper will provide musical entertainment. The program will begin in the City Council Chambers and will conclude in front of City Hall with the raising of the Irish flag.
