Irrespective of who forms the Government at the Centre, the one thing which is clear is that the country needs to get back to the path of rapid development if it has to emerge as a economic powerhouse and be spoken of in the same breath as China. The key to the revival of economic growth is the renewed investment, particularly in the infrastructure space. While the revival of economy is always viewed as a long term process, there are indeed low hanging fruits for the new Government. A strong statement of stable economic, investment and tax policies in the first Budget to be presented by the new Government will be the first opportunity to make a statement to the world that India is back in business.
