Is Jesus in your boat ? After providing such wonderful grace to thousands of folk who had been following Jesus for days. Because they were wearied through their journey with Him, they had not had chance nor interest or ability perhaps through poverty to go to the towns to buy their own food, they were all consumed with following Jesus. Jesus saw the need of all who came after Him. He fed every one of them after He taught them with the Real Bread, The Words of Spiritual life. He stood up and gave thanks to the Father, King of the Universe. He used what little provision they had found amongst them all and given to Jesus to multiply back to them. Five loaves and two small fish. He then got His called out ones to humble themselves and be servants to all the thousands of people there, men, women and their children in need. Now sitting down in small groups. Incredibly the disciples of Jesus had to keep on coming back to Jesus again and again as they could only carry so much of the broken bread and pieces of fish in their small baskets to be able to give to the needy for more food. Back and forth all afternoon for hours until every one there had something to eat. Not one person was left out. Jesus was the sole provider of the miracle of provision not the disciples. He alone multiplied back what was put into His care. Amazingly even the disciples had provision to eat after first serving those they were called to attend to there were twelve small basket filled with fragments of food left over. After Jesus had sent the crowds back to their towns He wanted time alone with The Father. He sent His disciples ahead of Him, into the boat to go across the lake. Jesus was now praying further up the hillside on the side facing the lake so He could not only pray to the Father and hear what he was to do next. Jesus could actually see His disciples as they were progressing across the water. Meanwhile as the disciples were increasingly getting into problems with the now stormy water, so much so that they feared they would all drown. They may have questioned Jesus as to where He was. They feel hopeless and totally helpless even though there were well experienced boatmen with them, they were overwhelmed by the storm. Where is Jesus, perhaps they cried, they despaired. Jesus was at this time fully aware of their circumstances. He was able to see them being tossed to and fro on the high waves now battering their boat. The disciples now hanging on for dear life in the storm are really questioning, where is Jesus in all this, where is He. Why is this happening to us. We just served Him all afternoon, we dont deserve to be treated like this..... Jesus suddenly is seen coming towards them. He IS walking on top of the waves. He is on top of the problem. It is under His feet. In such a turmoil the disciples cant even recognise Jesus. They even thought He was a ghost. Jesus saw them and looked right at them, It was as though He were prepared to go past them and leave them to their struggles. But He was recognised at last. It is I Jesus replied. At this they asked Him into their boat to be with them in their need. Instantly He got into the boat the storm died. Problems all solved. We all need Jesus in our boat of life and concerns. He walks on the storms of life. He is able to subdue every storm of life we could ever experience no matter what it is. Ask Him and invite Him today to watch over you and still your storm whatever it may be. With Him in your boat you will reach safely your destiny and come out safe on the other side. Praise His name.
