Is London Ontarios Detroit? Economically speaking. Now some contend its Windsor. I agree theres similarities there beyond geographical. But the make-up of London. The spiral and the economic parallel of early collapsing Detroit (1967-1975) are eerily similar to todays London. *Detroit did not get to where it is overnight. Once a very wealthy city. Solid industry, white and blue collar. Thriving core. Now: Rapidly expanding wealthier northern suburbs. Pockets or enclaves of nice areas (When that used to be the opposite). A favored, isolated, highlighted area of the core and business district. Dead industrial complexes. Growing individual dependence on the state. Growing poverty... Let the hate mail begin....
