============================== Is Rahul Gandhis political career at stake? ============================== Rahul Gandhi is contesting only from one seat unlike you-know-who. Here is what I could think of: 1. He is confident/over-confident of winning in Amethi with a huge majority just like previous election. OR 2. He is being advised by people who want to end his political career. (Losing in Amethi will be definitely an end to his political career no matter what his foot soldiers say) 3. He is unaware of the ground reality in his constituency and doesnt know which way the people will vote. Amethi has been with Congress party (particularly Gandhi family) for the last 3 decades but the party failed to create a model constituency out of Amethi. They had enough time and enough resources and enough political power to turn the things around in Amethi, but they never had the political will to change the lives of people. Rahul had a great opportunity to fix the education system, infrastructure and quality of human life in Amethi. He had 10 years at disposal. He had his own party in power at center and an ally in state. He could have proved himself as an able politician. But, he chose to remain detached from the constituency. He chose to visit the constituency once in a blue moon for photo ops. He chose symbolic gestures like dining at a dalits hut to create news. If he had done great work in Amethi, things would have been different. Its a lost opportunity now and hope people of Amethi return the favor by voting wisely. Note: Opposing views are welcome but redundant/circular/rhetorical/hateful/idiotic comments shall be ignored.
