Is everyone ready to rock and roll today??? The sun is out and the temp is unusually warm for 9am. We started the day in the upper 60s and we should have no trouble getting into the upper 70s with full sunshine. In fact, the forecast grid for Branson shows the Hi around 81°F. This mornings radar is showing a batch of severe thunderstorms in AR around the Fort Smith area. These cells are indeed headed to the NNE toward SW MO. I see no reason for these cells to diminish as the atmosphere is more than primed to sustain these storms. I think they will skirt the Fayetteville area on their way up here. Ill be watching this batch over the next few hours. As I mentioned, the atmosphere is set up nicely for severe weather today and this afternoon will be a good time for a few supercells to develop. They will be scattered and will not effect all of us so this is something to watch. The main show will start tonight as the Cold Front moves through. THEN things will really get going. Warm temps, abundant moisture, wind shear and a trigger mechanism will likely cause supercells to become more numerous sometime after 6pm. These storms will eventually form into a line and when they do then the straight-line wind will be the main player. Stay tuned throughout the day as Ill be updated often with new data and graphics to keep yall informed.
