Is it a negotiating position, or a red line Tehran will not cross? According to this news item from the state-run Kayhan newspaper, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said Iran would never give up its nuclear rights. By this he means dismantling its nuclear program, as Israel and Saudi Arabia insist on, but Washington and Europe seem willing to allow, as long as there are tight inspections and enrichment of uranium to five percent or less. The leader also took France to task for taking a hard line on Iranian enrichment - including of plutonium, and insisted that he isnt meddling in the details of the work of Irans nuclear negotiators.
