Is it the reality that life is just the way it is, that our past struggles are going to dictate our future? Look at the apostle Peter. Before Christs resurrection, he was a bit of a screwup. Time after time he stubbled, made poor choices and spoke before he thought. All those years with Jesus, he still didnt get it. At Jesus death he abandoned him and in the days after he went back to hes old life as a fisherman. But Jesus still did not give up on Peter. Jesus again called to Peter from the shore. Mercy, forgiveness and grace comes from the resurrected Christ. Before we messed up, before our mistakes, before our sin... Jesus died for us. Condemnation, guilt and judgment lives before the cross away from Christ but the more we press towards the resurrected Christ, the more we will experience His love, grace and mercy. Our future in Christ is far more powerful than our failures of the past. Jesus still took Peter and used him greatly for His Kingdom and we are no different... He wants and can use us greatly as well. Answer the call from the shore.
