Is it weird how mad I got about Shark Weeks show Shark of Darkness: The Wrath of Submarine that was on Discovery channel last night? I didnt catch the very beginning and missed any disclaimer they may have had about it being fictionalized. And I am failing to understand why they put a fake documentary (which was the scariest thing Ive seen since Open Water) on a set of programming that I thought was meant to be at least somewhat educational. At the very least they could have just admitted that the show was not real at the end. This is what it said: “[The Submarines] existence is highly controversial. Events have been dramatized, but many believe Submarine exists to this day. Seriously? I dont think Im a total dumbass and I know G isnt. And both G and I were fooled into believing that something like that had really happened. (Thank god I had too many questions about the many inaccuracies they spouted from scientists and spectacular footage they miraculously obtained during a rescue effort that I had to look it up before I went to bed) I think its irresponsible to put something like that into a block of programming that many believe is real scientific programming. Sharks are already demonized and murdered. What bullshit! And to put that fake documentary out there just completely undermines the credibility of any other show they put out about sharks.
