Is it wrong to cry with laughter at your own jokes? I was just - TopicsExpress

Is it wrong to cry with laughter at your own jokes? I was just replying to the post of a friend about the representation of black people on television and the petition being put together by Lenny Henry. I was then reminded of some of the jokes that we used to run as I posted the following: Back in the day I used to joke that the actors would all arrive on set for a read through. The white actors would be a given a massive book of a script. The black actors would be handed a piece of paper because basically they were going to be killed off in the first scene, possibly with no dialogue in between. The script would read: Looks in fear with wide eyes. Clutches chest. Hits floor. I would like to think that times have changed however I havent studied the demographics of television enough to be able to comment with any precision. Marilyn Devonish
