Is religion a menace our mentor for our happiness?” In Egypt, Iraq, Syria, Nigeria, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India Islamic terrorists have carried out more than 24655 attacks since 9/11. Religious terrorism has taken a big toll. When haphazard killing in Buses, trains, mosques churches and even in schools create horrid violence and makes life awful, when car bombs kill dozens of people on the roads, when female suicide bombers detonate packed markets when life is all too uncertain, checking the mayhem alone can bring order out of chaos. The power of Religious fanaticism overpowers the power of GDP, GNP, Per Capita income space research becomes a farce, searching for life on the other planets while losing life on home planet is ludicrous. What purpose the UNO has to serve what developmental plans the governments can make when wisdom of oldest science of mankind, religion, is lost? “Is religion a menace our mentor for happiness?” Isn’t it the obvious doubt that one gets? What individuals, organizations and countries want in the name of progress and development? Can economic growth still be the ultimate objective of governments? When life is at stake can we adopt narrow measures like income and goods to measure the living standards?
