Is the mystery solved? Remember that mystery box that was on our front porch on Christmas Eve morning? We followed the instructions on the box and didnt open it until Christmas. Now here is the back story. I had seen this item listed for sale and instantly loved it. BUT - these last two years as we have tried to settle comfortably into our retirement income I have worked on impressing on myself the difference between a want and a need. And this lovely item was definitely a want, NOT a need. When this was listed for sale several folks contacted me to share the listing because just as I (and others too) thought, this piece just looked like it belonged in my dining room. I happened to actually see the piece and it was even more lovely than the photo showed. But it was still a want, not a need. It seemed that a large family would enjoy this piece and maybe it would become a cherished family piece that in future years would come to be called Mommas big soup tureen and proudly used on holidays and during times of family and friends sharing fellowship. It was a want, not a need. And on Christmas Day it became mine. And it will be used during meals serving up soup and love to the family and friends that come together around my table for fellowship and fun and laughter. Thank you dear kind giver of this gift. You and I and several others know who you are, and so does the Record Keeper who keeps track of kind and not so kind deeds. You have added a jewel to your heavenly crown. And I am overwhelmed at this enchanting gift.
