Is there such a thing as a child that deserves to die from hunger, - TopicsExpress

Is there such a thing as a child that deserves to die from hunger, when we dispose of more food in the USA, than is consumed in some places? I observed children in India, and other places that were one day away from starvation, are they less blessed than our children? I see homeless kids right here in America, sleeping in shelters if they are lucky, but often in a backseat of a car, in a dumpster, behind bushes, or even on the streets. Begging on the streets in Mexico, I met young Jose, a lad orphaned and alone, he ran errands for whomever hired him. .Jose was a hard working 12 year old lad, with a great smile. He ran those deliveries and messages at full speed, and took the errands and missions he ran very seriously. I fed him dinner two nights in a row and he enjoyed his first T bone steak at my table. I taught him to play the bamboo flute, Jose helped me with my Spanish, I worried for him for I saw the kinds of men that gave him packages, to deliver and I was sure they were not Girl Scout cookies. One day the lad disappeared for five day.s He was later found murdered by local drug lords, we assumed, for knowing too much. My point is, here is a group o Central American kidsf kids stuck at our borders running from violence and hate and we have a chance to help and we argue over the fact that they are here. Some want to force them back on the road or deportation, but laws will not allow immediate deportation so we have a chance to be humans and prove we are not all gun nuts with racist attitudes, we are a civilized and humane people.. Show we care, let the world know we care, and many bridges evolved from that connection of care.
