PDP govs endorse Jonathan for 2015 Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party on Wednesday night endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan as their sole candidate for the 2015 presidential election. The governors took the decision after their meeting, which was held at the Akwa Ibom State Governor’s Lodge, Abuja. Chairman of the forum, who is also the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Chief Godswill Akpabio, stated this while briefing journalists after the governors’ meeting. He said this decision was not challenged by any of the governors who were in attendance at the meeting. Governors who were at the meeting were those of Cross River, Niger, Kogi, Kaduna, Taraba (Acting) Gombe, Abia, Delta, Adamawa (Acting), Bayelsa, Plateau, Akwa Ibom, Enugu, Benue, Jigawa (Deputy), Katsina (Deputy), Sokoto (Deputy), Kebbi (Deputy). The Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido, who is believed to be nursing presidential ambition, was not at the meeting. It was however not clear if his deputy, who was in attendance, disapproved of the decision of the governors. The decision of the governors is expected to be debated at the National Executive a Committee meeting of the party, which holds in Abuja on Thursday. Punch.
