Is this still a nation of common sense? Can we be stampeded or bewildered? Think about how terror has gripped this nation. Think about how reactionary we have become and how polarized we can be. November 22, 1963 was, of course, a historic day in the history of The United States of America. A president was assassinated. You and I, the young ones who were not alive then, have only read and watched the past in words and pictures. We are detached. It was a different time, but it was a time that made us who we are now. These are not echoes of the past. These are shadows of the future.
