Isaiah 42:8 I am יהוה: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. Psalms 115:1 Not unto us, O יהוה, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truths sake. ____________________________________________ What do you mean by give glory to GOD? To glorify God means to acknowledge His greatness and give Him honor by praising and worshiping Him. It is not by our power or might but by His powers that we are able to do all things. The glory and honour belongs to GOD. However, there are certain Christians who give the glory and praise to the Bible instead of to GOD, thinking that the Holy Bible is GOD. They are unable to discern the different. They give the credit of being saved or being changed by the power of the Bible . They do not say glory, praise and thanks to GOD but thanks to the Bible, they have changed from their bad ways. They often mention the word Bible in their conversations but not the name of GOD. The Bible has become their Idol or golden calf.The bible is just a book,scriptures written by men from inspirations of the Holy Spirit, testifying about GOD and to point us in the direction GOD. The Bible is not the WORD! Yahushua is the WORD OF GOD. Not the letter but the spirit gives life. You can read the whole Bible or memorize the whole Bible by heart and it would not yield life. Only words heard as spoken by the Holy Spirit will give life. If you read the Bible without the presence of the Holy Spirit, those words will not come alive. It is like the presence of someone standing in front of you in real life and telling you his thoughts. You can hear and grow spiritually by the Word of life spoken by the Holy Spirit in your heart. There are conditions to be met before the Holy Spirit resides in you. Without the help of the Holy Spirit, those words would not come alive. John 6:63 “It is the Spirit that gives life, the flesh does not profit at all. The words that I speak to you are Spirit and are life. Thank you.
