Isn’t it nice when unexpected events give you so much pleasure? Our gig at The Railway Canteen last night, as a stand in band after a late cancellation, was thoroughly enjoyable. It wasn’t quite a full house, but in these days of falling attendances we, and the club, were delighted with the turn out. Even better for us, they were a most appreciative bunch and the applause after every song was most gratifying. As usual, Comfortably Numb drew the biggest reaction with John ‘s screaming guitar strings ending the first half. The second half, being more up tempo, saw some dancers join us out on the floor but it was never full as the majority of the audience were male. We’ve said it before and make no apologies for repeating ourselves. The Railway Canteen is a terrific venue for live music. Let’s all hope that the recent furore with some local grumps is short lived and that the music continues. Playing The New Inn, Ton Pentre tonight. First time there for The Mangos so looking forward to the challenge.
