Isolationists, Idiots, Three days ago in LA a 15 year old high school student was tragically killed when she tried to apprehend two thieves who were attempting to flee in their vehicle with her Iphone. The phone was a gift for good grades. A man asked her for the time, she told him, he grabbed her phone and ran to a vehicle to make a get away. Well she caught up to them and jumped on the hood of the car refusing to let them proceed but they took off and started swaying the car back and forth until she was ejected. When she hit the pavement she sustained head trauma and two days later died from the attack. That phone was her world in her pocket, she was not going to let a thief run off with her world. Its alarming when a device becomes the ultra uber of peoples reality. Feel bad for the family for rewarding a motivated child for a job well done, only to have good intentions forced into a bad situation. So if anyone on the streets asks you for the time dont pull out your smart phone and tell them. This is the third, time, Ive heard of phone jackers in LA using the time ploy to profit. Its now a standard way to get you to reveal your device in the hope of separating you from it. Its probably not worth your life you could think your phone has your whole life in it, it couldnt, you are life, its just a phone. The operative word here is, back up,,,often. Police are requesting assistance if anyone saw the incident happen.
