Now these things were A TYPE for us, that we might not desire evil as they did. 1 Corinthians 10:1-6 The text lists several things and events that were definitive of the history of the people and the nation of Israel. And then Paul goes on to state that these were A TYPE. OF what was Israel a TYPE and as TYPE what reality were they to be pointing to? And if they are pointing to the New Covenant Church (and that is the best answer) then why would we leave the reality, the substance to go back to the TYPE? This is what dispensational futurism does when it insists on a future restored literal physical nation of Israel, a literal brick and mortar temple, a literal restored levitical priesthood, a resumption of actual animal sacrifices, etc. All those were intended to be TYPES, SHADOWS, and FIGURES. So dispensationalits who read and frequent this page...
