Israel Will Stand Alone… so stand strong! First and - TopicsExpress

Israel Will Stand Alone… so stand strong! First and foremost, I would like to mention that Wednesday’s rally by Penn Station was an astonishingly powerful and moving display of unity between the Jewish people and the loyalty and belief they hold to their homeland. By all means, the numbers of the pro Israel crowd vastly outnumbered the opposition by an overwhelming extent! Having said this however, I would like to bring my observation to a bittersweet reality. The pro Israel crowd was lead by, and composed exclusively of Jewish people, where as the opposition was radically multi racial and multi cultural. If this event were to take place in a city without such a dominant Jewish population, would the number spread in this protest still be as prevalent towards the Israeli struggle? Unfortunately, I believe the answer would be “no.” I noticed a couple of “activists” (two middle aged white females) from the opposition holding “we believe in world peace” signs heading into a restaurant after the rally, when a group of pro-Israeli protestors were walking by them. One of these women suddenly scoffed under her breath “I hope they don’t allow Jews in here” as she opened the door into the establishment. Taking aside the irony of the fact that had these two American citizen white females been in Israel, they would be allowed into every establishment as dear guests, where as if they went on a little stroll through Gaza strip their fate would most likely be one of a less fortunate nature; we can see a strong analogy to the world’s view of the Jewish people, politics and overall perception of “reality.” As history has shown us, the Jewish people have always faced criticism from the world for… being Jewish. The reason is actually quite simple: The Jewish people have referred to themselves as “people of the book” and have devoted their entire historical existence to valuing deep study in vast academic fields. This devotion to knowledge has paid them in well deserved success in pretty much all areas of venture in which they decided to actively delve. They have also been known to mind to themselves and have always portrayed themselves in a peaceful manner. In a world as savage and ignorant as ours, such a combination of success with a timid nature makes the perfect enemy to envy and hate (not unlike the bullying that the smart kid with glasses received in class from their peers). The two seemingly inherent instincts built into the majority of human beings seem to be that “we should hate those who are successful” and “it is okay to pick on those who are more passive.” The truth is that Israel’s struggle is NOT just the struggle of the Jewish people. It is a struggle of the entire world against the terror that is militant Islam. The fight against Hamas is a step to benefiting the entire planet. Unfortunately, the world has lost it’s ability to understand utilitarian struggle and a warped sense of “progressive” thinking has shifted many outsiders from stepping up and voicing support for the one nation that is in the eye of the storm of all the chaos. Even the governments of the United States and the rest of the “civilized world” will only support Israel to an extent until they too will cry out about limiting the ability of the lone standing nation to defend itself from the terror that surrounds it - as history has also shown us in the past. Israel truly does stand alone at the end of the day. The world will criticize you no matter what the facts of the situation may be. No amount of Arab on Arab crime will shift the news attention from the casualties of the human shields that Hamas throws in front of your missiles. No amount of humanitarian aid or supply seems to convince the public that peace and prosperity for all is your only goal in the middle east. My advice to you Israel, and all of it’s sons and daughters, is to stop trying to please a hypocritical world and take final measure in securing your country that you built from the ground up, and your nation, which has weathered hardship it’s entire existence! So stand tall, Israel… because you might be one of the last countries to actually stand for something real in today’s dying world!
