Israel is wrong. Rabbi Yoffies recent URJ magazine apologia looks quaint and silly. Reasonable, ethically inclined people of every faith know its well past time to apply the traditional tools to end these inexcusable land grabs (start with boycotts, ratchet up pressure to disinvestment and eventually sanctions until behavior changes). You cannot excuse their apartheid, nor insist the rest of the world not apply the plain term to what is going on there. Netanyahu is the 21st centurys Pieter Botha or George Wallace... his position and agenda is unapologetically identical to theirs: segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever. Most decent people reject such ideologies. Except when applied to Israel for some reason. Theyve crossed the line too many times.
