It absolutely baffles my mind that this post got 692 shares, 217 comments and 2652 likes as of now - which will probably double in the next 24 hours. Yet the cow is *downed*. She is being lead to slaughter. How on earth is one sip of water going to alleviate her suffering in any meaningful way? Yes less suffering is better than more suffering. But please dont ignore the elephant in the room: she is going to be slaughtered - isnt that shocking in the extreme? Not only the fact that she is downed? Isnt this condescending in the extreme? Only 2 other people actually made the connection that it is cruel to eat her. Everyone else who has commented so far is applauding the constable for giving her just a sip of water. What then?
