It appears that nothing is too good for moochie and company-- read this and see if your birthday party was quite as extravagant?? January 20, 2014Entertainment, News, Obama/Political, Top News *For whatever reason the White House has yet to release official photos of Mrs. Michelle Obama‘s 50th birthday bash. But that hasn’t stopped stars like Beyoncé, Jennifer Hudson, Magic Johnson and Sam Jackson, among others from doing it. Speaking of Beyoncé, as we all guessed correctly, she performed at Michelle Obama’s 50th birthday soiree on Saturday, Jan. 18 at the White House As well as Beyoncé, John Legend and Stevie Wonder also did their musical thing. Other attendees included Mary J. Blige, Gayle King, Gladys Knight, Michael Kors, Rachael Ray, Smokey Robinson, Al Roker and Sheryl Sandberg. “I am looking forward to saying happy birthday to her, being able to celebrate this great milestone in her life,” Samuel L. Jackson said on his way into the star-studded soiree. Michelle Obama is said to have worn a red and black ensemble (she wore one before and looked like a black widow spider and an ugly one at that), and her daughters invited friends to the bash, reports E Online. The leaked invitation promised “Snacks & Sips & Dancing & Dessert” and asked guests to refrain from taking photos inside the event. Attendees were also encouraged to wear comfortable shoes, as the entire state floor—including the gilded east room, the formal parlors and the state dining room—was transformed into a dance floor. At one point, POTUS, 52, taught guests how to do “The Dougie!” For some, however, the president’s remarks about his wife of 21 years were the highlight of the night. “It was really beautiful and really touching,” musician Herbie Hancock said. “He said something—his voice almost cracked like he was crying. It was just beautiful, a husband speaking about his wife.” The Obamas’ family and friends departed the gathering about 2 a.m. No word on what the First Lady received by way of gifts but her husband’s present came early – an extra week in Hawaii for some girl time at Oprah Winfrey’s Maui mansion. Her actual birthday fell on Jan. 17, and she tweeted a photo of herself displaying her membership card to the AARP. “Excited to join Barack in the 50+ club,” she wrote.
