It feels so good to speak your mind! Tybg and DxE! For reallllaaa! I just got out of my Philosophy of Religion class. We were watching a debate on morality without God. The atheist was talking about how its immoral to cause unnecessary suffering to sentient beings. When my teacher paused the video to talk about it I spoke up. The conversation went like this. Me: So wouldnt the conclusion be to go vegan? My teacher: Well yes. Buddhist do that. I guess Im inconsistent. Vegans cant drink milk and that doesnt hurt cows. Me: They do suffer. They are confined for year, raped, and have their babies stolen from them. My Teacher: Have you seen cows with big utters? Maybe if the babies drank the milk it would relieve the swelling. Cows need to be milked. Me: Yes, its horrible. Cows do not need to be milked. They only lactate because they are kept pregnant just like a human would. Is this woman vegan who is using this as her debate? If she is not then she is a hypocrite. My friend who is a philosophy major went vegan after coming across this. On Thursday I plan on inviting him to my potluck and telling him that my friend Glenn Alexander will be there and hes the one who went vegan after thinking about this dilemma.
