It has been a decade since I began my foray into the world of all - TopicsExpress

It has been a decade since I began my foray into the world of all dark and eerie subjects. Back then, no one knew me as anything beyond Eric Vernor. I found that, for people who were in online forums, the only way to gain respect as an outsider was to have a name they understood and could relate to. So, I merged the root word for the Crow/Raven species and Latin for “of the night” (or roughly something like that) becoming Corvis Nocturnum. Now, these many years later, social media has forced many of us to use our given names. Unlike many, I never minded if people knew my name or not - indeed, my agents, editors and managers have said it is good that I write using both names interchangeably, for books and for the TV show in pre production. It was nearing the time that I would have been required to create a fan page, since my friends list began approaching the maximum limit, so I have began to invite all of you to the other page. I have greatly enjoyed this exploration of the shadows and, apparently, so have most of my readers. The majority of my 16 plus books have an average of four out of five star reviews. Oddly enough, my most citation filled book, I Lucifer Exploring the Archetype and Origins of the Devil, was given a one star (4.5 on most sites, however, as an overall) by someone who used the logic that there were not enough citations...apparently they speed read, missed the names of authors and books throughout the entire volume, and breezed past the bibliography where 63 books where listed! Haunted Asylums has had over a dozen reviews, all five out of five stars with glowing and lengthy reviews, and the rest of my works seem to be recommended, so I am quite happy that I please the public who, like me, are curious of what lies beyond the comfort zone of all that is bright and sunny! My first book, Embracing the Darkness Understanding Dark Subcultures is reaching its tenth anniversary. In order to celebrate this milestone I will be releasing a new edition with expanded material and my reflections on the shifts that have taken place since my beginnings. There will be updates from some of the people, and newcomers to the chapters who are fresh in the trends we see. Sometimes, there is value in doing things such as this to make sure a project is not forever dated in the past and I think the fans might appreciate the retrospective.
