It has been almost a week since the election concluded. Mere words will inadequately express the gratitude and appreciation I have for each and every single person who has been a part of not only this accomplishment but of all of the opportunities presented to me in my life that have led to this stage. I would be making a huge mistake if I tried to name all of the people, past and present, who helped get me here. But I must recognize three incredible people who have made this possible: My family. Holly has been the greatest supporter anyone could ask for. She has braved it all, and withstood more than anyone could imagine, to help me achieve my dream. She took on the struggle as if it was her own, at times more intensely than myself, and it simply could not have happened without your effort, support and energy. Thank you Holly, I love you. Morgan and Austin, you have spent almost a third of your lives as children within campaigns. You endured rides from others, missed events, tired, busy parents, and in the end, you stood with us, tall and strong and determined to support me and your mother in this quest. You never complained, and at the final lap, you ran hard and strong with us. I am truly lucky, and I was before the results came in last week. To all, please know that I do not take this opportunity lightly. Some people fall into circumstances, and that has happened to me in the past. But on August 1, 2012, I made the statement that I had never worked so hard at something and not succeeded. Today, I can say that I have never worked so hard for something in my whole life, and I will treat this opportunity with every ounce of gratitude and respect it deserves, in appreciation of the hard work and sacrifices that were made to turn a non-success into a success. I am truly honored to have been given this trust by so many good people.
