It has been an interesting night thus far. It started out slow, but that did not last long. There was an armed robbery that turned into a pursuit when a unit spotted the suspect vehicle. That turned into much more when the suspect crashed through a fence and into a house. One suspect fled on foot, one was apprehended at the crash and they thought the third was inside the home. I got teamed up with 2 of our SWAT guys and the SWAT Sgt. and eventually we forced entry into into the home to search for one of the suspects who was believed to be barricaded in the home, and to check on the elderly solo resident of the home who neighbors thought was inside. The home checked clear and no one was inside. Thankfully, the homeowner was out to dinner as the truck crashed into her family room and onto the couch and TV. The suspect who foot bailed was apprehended a few blocks away. Eventually, the 3rd suspect was located, so all 3 suspects are in custody. On my way back to my district from that call, I got sent to home invasion robbery. Two suspects armed with guns broke into the home, pistol whipped one of the victims, threatened the other 3 (including a 2 yr old) and this was all over money and that harmless marijuana that is legal here in CA.... While I was there dealing with that, we had an armed robbery of a fast food joint a few miles away. I just now sat down to eat dinner, and I still have a couple more hours to go. It has been on helluva night so far. Some days I love my job!
