It has been brought to my attention by a few people at GCC that standards are not as good as they could be. By this i mean shoddy belaying. Belaying is the most important part to climbing as it is what keeps the climber safe so being able to do this well is very important. Just because you are a member doesnt mean to say you know everything. Everyone, myself included, makes mistakes and it would help if people were to point out whenever they see mistakes. Please dont be embarrassed about asking for help or giving your friend a tip, were all learning and the safer we can do this the better. We have a very good relationship with GCC and it would be a shame if this were to be hurt. All I am asking is for people to just be a little more attentive with what they do when climbing.
