It has been some time since the Scott ball diamond has hosted a ballgame, but a group of dedicated residents would like to see that changed. "Neither the diamond or concession stand has been used in almost 15 years. It is necessary to revive not only the park, but the excitement in our community and most importantly, in our children," said one of the organizers, Heather Lacy.In order to hear the sound of the crack of the bat and the cheers of excited players and fans, the Scott Ball Association will be having a family fun day and fundraiser called Picnic In the Park. The event will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10 at Bressler Park, 12239 Blaine Street in Scott. All proceeds will go to help the ball association bring ball games back to the park. The festivities will begin at 11 a.m. with free food, fun and games.
