It has begun. The last line of the article says it all: ...Sam made 11 tackles and three quarterback sacks in a STRONG PERFORMANCE over four pre-season games. Players with Strong performances dont get cut. The writer is attempting to suggest that Sams release from the Rams and inability to sign with someone else is for other reasons. Stats are very small indicators of a players success because its relative to when and how. Did get those plays against starters, at the beginning of the game, or was it against scrubs during garbage time? Nor does it illustrate the entire picture. What was his film like? Did he perform well in practice? Was he better than the players a head of him? Sam played in 4 pre-season games meaning 5 teams got a up close look at him and NONE of them have shown interest.
