It hit me this morning (and Ive known this for ages but never articulated it in my mind to this extent) that this country - this world - wont get any better no matter what new governmental plan, or community outreach, or social initiative becomes the new solution for a single problem. The only way there will be significant and lasting improvement is if entire systems are overhauled or thrown out. So many times, a solution is offered that would totally fix a problem, but then theres the response, Well, thats all well and good, but what about...? Then the solution is tabled. Why not fix the what about just as much as the original problem? Fix all the shit that gets in the way of fixing the problem originally intended. I could give examples but I have a feeling no one is even reading anymore. If you are, pose a problem that you see in society, and Ill offer a solution. Then you or someone else will likely say, But what about...? Then Ill show you how we can fix that too, thus making the first fix more viable. Im so sick of good ideas being tossed out because the present framework wont accommodate it. Fix the damned framework too!
