It is 2:06 in the morning. My husband just lift for the top of the hill. There were three baby calves born during the night. He said they will be OK but they havent sucked like he would like. They need colostrum from mommy right away. This is very important to a baby calf. So he made up three bottles and will give one to each calf. He puts a tube on the bottle and puts the milk right into the stomach. This gives the baby some get up and go. I cant sleep until I know he is safely home. It is something because I can hear the old pickup coming home from far away. I guess a person just knows the sound of your man coming home. We had to put a baby and mommy in the barn this evening. Just more comfortable. We have around 28 little fellows and gals out there now. This is life on the farm.
