It is New Years Eve here in Thailand, and within less than six hours it will be 2015. I want to send all my Facebook friends my best wishes for the New Year and my hope that 2015 will be a wonderful year ahead. As a gay man, due to the conditions in society as I was growing up and also because of the nature of my work, I had to live life alone. Now in retirement, and living in more understanding societies, I have been able in earnest to seek a life partner. Happily it has happened for me finally in 2014 with my engagement to Shem Maunes whose photo is above. A young handsome man, who is happy in the company of an older guy, Shems love for me and his devotion to his family, his cheerful nature, and understanding, flexible approach to life have made him an ideal partner for me. It took me more than 50 years to find the right man, but finally that has happened. He and I are very happy together, and we look forward to the new year with the expectation that it will be the best ever. Some of you Facebook friends have been kind enough to send me congratulations on my good fortune. Believe me, they are deeply appreciated, and I thank those of you who took the trouble to send me your best wishes and lend me your support, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Ill never forget your understanding and kindness.
