It is THANK YOU day. My first Awards Ceremony yesterday at the Kent Women in Business Awards , and here I am, runner-up in the Contribution to the Community category, alongside Louise Wright from ChYps, other runner up. The winner in this category is Ella Brocklebank, who has been raising funds for the Pilgrims Hospice in quite a remarkable way. Very inspiring woman indeed. I now understand why people say thank you a lot in awards ceremonies: there is nothing else to say! There is no way I could have got there by myself. No way I could have moved forward doing what I love, on my own. All the people I met and built relationships with, all the courses I went to and people I learnt so much from, have created the environment I needed to move forward. So thank you firstly to my Mum and Dad ;-) my family and close friends; thank you to Hilary KI Steel and Sue Smith for putting the Awards together; Bill Fox from the Kent Business Academy for coaching me and making me accountable; Fay Blair for her support and evaluation work; everyone I work with at Kent Creative Arts CIC , involved in our projects; all creative and not so creative people in Kent I met over the past 2 years and who supported me in what I do; I hope I have helped in return. I cant name them all... Thats bit long for a runner-up speech, but I actually find this very enjoyable. The recognition for our work done in the creative world as a contribution to the community does mean a lot to me.
