It is an evil thing when a police officer is ambushed and murdered in cold blood. It is an evil thing when civilians are killed without any sort of trial. We should decry all violence, rage and bloodshed and crave justice. Law enforcement officers are a part of Gods gracious authority on Earth and they have a dangerous and difficult task to do. They need our support not just in word but in the implementation of laws, policies and procedures that best protect them and us equally. Let us not fall into the unending abyss of stereotyping, judging and prejudice, let us instead seek constructive, non-violent, God-designed means of maintaining and protecting peace and representing him on Earth. Its not about them. There is no them. It is only us. We are all them. Them is the image bearers of God and theres about 7 billion of us. Lets work together. Peace on Earth; goodwill toward men.
