It is becoming apparent that this hospital in Texas might have been less able to care for an Ebola patient than a hospital in Liberia: two members of the nursing staff have been confirmed infected, clearly demonstrating that the isolation protocols were inadequate. The original patient was misdiagnosed and sent home after initial presentation, a grave error that endangered the entire community. It has been reported elsewhere that the patients family was begging the hospital to send him to a facility properly equipped to handle virulent infectious disease but were repeatedly turned down. Is the rest of the country going to do any better job if the time comes?
