It is believed that Socrates said: "I am not an Athenian or a Greek, but a citizen of the world," and many are following his footstep today. Many are following his philosophy, though they never know where this man is now. They do not know whether this man is in the first hell or in the 7th hell! The do not know whether this man is in the worst section of hell or not. I do not follow the Athenian philosophers, anyway. I do not follow Plato. I do not follow Socrates or Aristotle. I do not follow any man or woman! I do not belong to any man or woman! I belong to my Lord and Saviour Christ Jesus. I follow Christ and Him alone. I am created by Christ. I am created for Christ. I am sustained through Christ. I am saved (received SOZO salvation) by Christ. I live, move and have my being in Him and Him alone! He is my beginning and my end. He is the only source of my being and my final, my ultimate and glorious destination! Because of this absolute truth I would surely, confidently and with 100% clarity say that I am NOT an Athenian, African, European, Asian, a Greek, A Jew, A Gentile NOR a citizen of the world but a CITIZEN OF HEAVEN living temporarily in this world. My Precious Saviour and Lord Jesus made the following greatest and most precious statement when He was praying to His Father in Heaven concerning His true followers:" They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world." (John 17:16). This is one of the most powerful Word of the Scripture, though it is completely ignored by the countless earthly minded Christians. Yes, I am in this world but I am not of this world! Exactly the same as my Lord and Saviour is! He was in this world but He was not of this world. He was not a citizen of this world! He came from heaven and He went back to heaven. This awesome and merciful Saviour gave me an eternal (not just temporary, perishing, passing away), permanent, and incorruptible citizenship and I am eagerly waiting to leave this corrupt and evil world soon and to go to my eternal country heaven, my most glorious home full unspeakable joy! "For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself." (Phil 3:20-21) "By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. 9 By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; 10 for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God."(Heb11:8-10) Our father Abraham lived as a foreigner in this world because he waited for the most glorious city which has unshakable foundations, "whose builder and maker is God." "These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them,[c] embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. 14 For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland. 15 And truly if they had called to mind that country from which they had come out, they would have had opportunity to return. 16 But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them." (Heb.11:13-16)
