It is getting into Chinese New Year atmosphere already and here in Toronto various gatherings, banquets are variously coming forward day to day. I just reviewed a special concert by Song Zuying 2011 going to Taipei to sold-out enthusiastic audience. She brought mostly folk songs and old songs to pull at the heart strings of Taiwan residents. The artistic world of all three places Taiwan, Hong Kong and Mainland are quite interwoven as if one. Although Taiwan is of common dialect type as the area across the straits, Min Nan dialect, the one million KMT sympathizers, came from all over China and nowadays they are all going back to their hometown to buy villas, factories, and marry local partners. Watching the concert of Song Zuying, listening to the music, we are again reminded of how much this new Chinese dream is verdantly blooming. Now that Peng Liyuan is not performing, Song Zuying is the reigning voice and reigning beauty.
