It is impossible to be a victim and a competitor at the same time. People who see themselves as victims are consistently looking for reasons why life isn’t working out the way they want or expect. By taking that approach they don’t have to take responsibility for anything that goes wrong and they get their attention by people feeling sorry for them. This behavior is a choice. As a leader, it is your choice how you respond. These people will wear you out, so be careful how much energy you give them… there are enough other people who really deserve our positive energy attention and help
