It is interesting to see more studies on how the mind can reduce the risks hypertension and related cardiovascular diseases. Although conventional exercises, such as steady-pace cardio and HIIT has been proven to lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure, little is known about why does meditative exercise, such as yoga and qigong, can do the same without raising the heart rate. Perhaps it is not always about the heart or lungs. The brain and the nervous system can be just as powerful. High-intensity exercise may be suitable for everyone, especially those with joint and neural diseases.
